The post’s author is writing a music app using the Nokia Music API on Windows Phone. The question asked why the API wasn’t returning a number of albums by prominent musicians. The answer is that the API returns results for content that Nokia can sell. Specifically, this means that an album will be returned when Nokia has a digital deal with the publisher in the user’s region.
Product management have taken note of the feedback about getting discographies from the API and will seek to improve support for this use case.
We selected this question because we think its great that people are using the Nokia Music API. Even though the service does not yet meet this particular use case, we think it is excellent that the question was answered so promptly, and that the feedback has been taken in by the responsible team.
