The discussion is spread over a few months, and only really starts to get interesting when the post author is making a chat application for J2ME and seeks information regarding the XMPP client lib for J2ME. XMPP or Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol is a communication protocol, formerly named Jabber, for message-oriented midddleware based on XML. One example of usage of this protocol can be seen in Chat applications like the integration with Facebook Chat.
Suggestions were provided. Over a period of time the discussion turned towards developing a XMPP client lib for Windows Phone – Nokia Developer Champion somnathbanik has agreed to create this library and put it on the wiki.
We selected this question because we think the options for XMPP client libraries are well explored in the thread, and because we are very pleased that the discussion has kicked off the creating of a Windows Phone client library.
Keep those interesting questions coming!
