The Featured Discussion Board Post this week is Character conversion issue in Nokia Asha sdk Localization Builder, started by Luca Rocchi (lucarocchi).
Luca had a problem at his localization strings not showing correctly. This issue occurred although he was using the correct UTF-8 character codes in his input XML files (usually the first suspect in such issues).
The root cause of the problem proved to be faults in the build process. Two solutions were proposed – disabling the Localization Builder (in the Project node Preference – Builders) to prevent re-building of the resource java files and manually take care of character set encoding, and using the “Internationalization API (JSR-238)” instead.
We selected this issue to be featured because it is likely to help other developers who deal with localization strings and could come across similar problems.
Keep those interesting questions coming!
