We selected this thread for two reasons.
Firstly because it refers to “manual focus” – a feature that is not very common but that is very useful for apps that want to give the user greater control over the scene or allow photographs in certain “edge” conditions. Sometimes you just need that extra bit of control, e.g. in a dark scenario if you don’t want to use the focus assist LED, or because you want to tweak the focus on screen without re-framing the scene. Interestingly the default camera app on Windows Phone lacks this particular feature, and only some (but not all) Windows Phone devices allow you to manual focus the camera.
Secondly because Loukt tested a number of different suggestions and came up with a working code that he shared with all of us. Sharing knowledge like that is what being part of a community is all about.
Looking forward to see what Loukt is working on.
