nileshb is developing a Java ME application where he needs to be able to show information in Indian regional languages such as Gujrati, Marathi, and Telugu. This is not a problem on devices which already have the respective Indian language fonts, but is when the fonts are not already present.
Various approaches were suggested ranging from creating custom fonts to creating smart language-aware font drawing/rendering mechanism. The final solution proved to be using the LWUIT resource editor to create bitmap fonts.
