Today we have introduced the Nokia Lumia 1020, the newest member of the Lumia smartphone family powered by Microsoft Windows Phone 8. We’re also introducing the new Nokia Imaging SDK and a number of imaging-focused initiatives to help you make the most of the device and the SDK.
Nokia Lumia 1020
The Nokia Lumia 1020 establishes the benchmark in smartphone imaging, boasting a second generation 41 megapixel sensor. Unlike any smartphone in the market today, the Lumia 1020 reinvents zoom, enabling people to discover more detail than the eye can see. With Nokia’s innovative PureView technology, including optical image stabilization, the device is able to produce some of the sharpest images possible by any digital camera. More >
Nokia Imaging SDK
The new Nokia Imaging SDK is a code library for imaging app developers working with the new Nokia Lumia 1020 or any other Windows Phone 8 device. The SDK makes available technologies that we at Nokia use in our own imaging applications, like Smart Camera. In its first release, it provides useful functionality like filters, image resizing, cropping and lossless free rotation.
The Nokia Imaging SDK comes packed with 50+ pre-made effects, filters, and enhancements, ranging from simple auto-enhance, frame and brightness controls all the way to advanced features such as adjusting RGB levels, hue, and saturation. Together, these tools empower developers to effectively do the ‘heavy lifting’ of image manipulation and effects on behalf of their users, and to enhance their imaging apps with a super-fast and fluid user experience (UX).
Together with the Windows Phone 8 SDK, you can now create amazing imaging experiences for consumers.
