I have used ASP with the WAP Toolkit 2.0. I did not need to use a special server, I just used my regular Web server. I tested it first on personal web server on Windows 98 and then on Windows NT Server 4.0.
All you have to do is make sure you set the content type of the Response before your document is returned to the client (simulator or Phone in this case). I insert this line of VBScript at the top of the file containing my WML file:
I found this out by reading an article about writing an ISAPI DLL to return WML to the phone, but ASP or any CGI-like technology works really well.
