I try to access a WML file using the WAP browser of the Series 60 terminal emulation while running Nokia Mobile Internet Toolkit 3.1.
I configured NMIT to provide a gateway (127.0.0.1, port 9200) and adapted the settings of emuras.ini as described in the users manual (virt. RAS 1, conn. type 1, gateway address and port like above, I was also trying some different configurations).
When I edit the URL of a file (e.g. 'file://test.wml') in the browser the notepad application is started instead displaying the plain text of the WML file, i.e. not interpreting any WML commands.
Currently I don't have any idea how to fix that problem. Is it possible to display local WML files using the browser at all?
It would be a great advance if you can help me out.
It is possible to view local files with the Series 60 Content Authoring SDK v1.0 for Symbian OS. However, the SDK does not support unencoded WML but only compiled WML (WMLC). To open the .wmlc files with the SDK, you need to save the files to ..\Epoc32\Wins\c directory.
