My company applied a MMSC from Nokia for testing. I use the
"OriginatingApp.java" provided by Nokia MMS Java Library sample to test out the connection.
I have set the url to point to the testing MMSC using the
"sender.setMMSCURL(<test mmsc url>" method inside the OriginatingApp.java. I got below error when I run the OriginatingApp.java
"java.net.SocketException: Connection reset
Its seem like the error come from the MMSender.java - responseCode = connection.getResponseCode(); and the MMSC didnt give any response back to the application. Please advice...
Thanks for your time.
RE: SocketException: Connection reset in MMSender.send()... pls. help...
I have tried to re-create your error, but was not able to get a similar error message.
Usually, when there is something wrong with the connection (not activated, configured incorrectly, etc.), you will get this kind of error:
"java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect"
Which Nokia Lab are you using for testing (US, Europe, or Asia)?
Here are things you can check:
-- Have you run this Application with the EAIF Emulator and gotten an OK Response? But I'm sure you've already done this.
-- Make sure you have ordered and are using the correction configuration for the MMSC Connection from the Nokia Developer Hub Service... Originating, correct Port#, etc. (This is unlikely problem, but good to check anyway.)
-- Maybe this error is due to the closing of the connection by the lab's firewall. Have you informed the Nokia Lab of your Application Server IP Address? You need to be using the same IP Address that you gave in the "Nokia Developer Hub Service Order Form".
