Hello developers out there!
I read this article about the J2ME game Miki's World (Java Game Porting) that you can find here (http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.n..._v1_0.pdf.html). The authors say that they achive more than 30 FPS on Series 40 devices (see chapter 2.3.2 of that article).
Since they use the Nokia 7210 (Series 40 Developer Platform 1.0) for Miki's World as reference device for that platform it sounds as that they are able to produce 30 FPS on that device. I have a Nokia 6070 (Series 40 2nd Edition) and wrote a J2ME application, but I am far far away from 30 FPS. If I use very primitive and less graphics I can get around 10 FPS on my device, even on 128x128 (native is 128x160).
So I thought that my device is much slower than the Nokia 7210, but on JBenchmark (http://www.jbenchmark.com/index.jsp) it is stated that my device has a better CPU and overall performance than the Nokia 7210. So I downloaded a benchmarking JAR from JBenchmark for my device. The test results for MIDP1 Game test were 47 Frames.
I am at the end with my knowlegde. How should it be possible to achive 30 FPS on Nokia 6070, or on a S40 DP 1.0 device?
If anyone of you has a suggestion or benchmarking results for S40 DP 1.0 devices, any help would be appreciated.
