Hello, I've got several question as i am a complete newbie to this, but i would really like to understand how does this stuff works.
so.. here i go
(Oh, by the way, i want to upload all this content via WAP-not datacables nor sms to the 3510i phone)
1) how can i embed jpg images into my WAP site (like i did with wbmp but in color)?
2) i got some free games (jad, jar) but whenever i point my 3510i to that location (www.mylocation.com/game.jad) i get a "ubnknown file format" error. how can i "tell" the device what file is it?
3) same goes to MMF, also how can i tell the device not to include the .mid extension in the tone name when its downloaded?
4) what is the file format for mms messages? is it just .mms? if so, should my link point to somefile.mms and the phone will identify it?
I will really apreciate your kind answer.
Thank you all and have a great day!
Nokia 3510i WAP browser does not support JPG so you cannot view JPG images in the browser. Supported image formats are WBMP and GIF (including animated).
To be able to download Java Midlets, images and other supported content to the phone via WAP, you need to configure the web browser with correct MIME types. For Java Midlets (.jar and .jad files) these are text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor (*.jad) application/java-archive (*.jar). Please take a look at the "Nokia WAP Phone MIME types" document to find out which other MIME/media types are supported in the Nokia WAP phones. The document can be found at http://www.forum.nokia.com/documents.
It is not possible to download MMS from a WAP page. For information about how to create and send/receive MMS, see documents "Getting started with MMS" and "How to create MMS services" and also other related documentation at http://www.forum.nokia.com/documents.
also regarding 3510i and the jpeg ,when i put a jpg in my wap site the 3510i wap browser waits as if he is reading the jpg (meaing the little ball at the top keeps turning accoring to the size of the picture in kb i placed) however eventualy you can not see the picture only ablank space instead
the question is it possible that the nokia 3510i needs some special handling reagrding jpeg and then it will show it?
or is there no way to show jpg on the nokia 3510i ?
