We are developing an application through which users can send and receive sms messaging from Computers to mobiles and from mobiles to computers. How is it possible? How can we adopt any service / program so that we can accomplish our application.

This is an user answer which was sent here before:
You can use your operators gateway (if they have one) that uses tcp-ip connection from your server to the gateway, which sends the message to receiver.
The other way that I know is to connect a cellular phone or terminal directly with serial cable to your server and use your own software to compose the messages to phone or terminal that acts then as a modem.
Here's anohter one:
If you don't need subscriber-billing or be able to handle thousands of incoming SMS requests per hour.
If you visit www.gw4sms.com you can download the 4SMS Service Provider software.
It can use any AT+C compatible GSM phone for incoming SMS requests, and result is sent over TCP/IP through a SMS gateway for speed. It's ideal for setting up services like logos and ringtones requests, distribution lists etc.
