I'm programming an application on a 3650 where I send data in XML with the HTTPConnection... after long hours at last I've done it, it's possible to send a simple String to a server and receive the response.
With the Sharp GX-10 all of this was no problem, but Nokia's had problems with my code... but I've improved it and it works
Now I've got the problem that when the data length is larger than 512 characters, only the first 512 characters will be available in de Nokia 3650 (And with XML that results in missing tags ) The Sharp GX-10 has a limit of 1024 characters... so I didn't run to the problem there... Now I'm searching for a solution sothat I can send a lot of more characters
Does anybody has an idea? (I already tried chunked HTTP information, but that didn't helped)
Are you using GET or POST method?
you could do it also followint way that,
first sent information how many data piece you are going to send and along each data piece sent the ID of current data piece.
And after last data piece sent, rebuild the whole message.
Thats not the best way and needs server side code also, but should work.
The URL limitation in 7650 (sw 3.12&3.16) is about 100
characters and in sw 4.39 it is 256 characters.
The HTTP/1.1 spec doesn't mention anything about URL sizes.
The difference between http get and http post is as follows. In the case of HTTP GET all data is sent in the url. In the case of http POST all data is sent in the http header not in the url. So the url length limit is not so important in the case of http post.
I do not know is there some limitations for the size of the data in http post request but at least I know that you can send much more information with it than using http get.
