Sockets in Symbian C++ for Series 60 Emulator.
After many trials and futile attempts to implement UDP sockets using J2ME in my Nokia 3650, I finally decided to jump into the world of Symbian C++...
There is a TCP Sockets client example which worked on my series 60 emulator. Now I am trying to write my own TCP Server and am having some issues here...
Let me tell u what i'v been doing...
I have created a basic skeletion workspace provided by the Symbian series 60 emulator in the VC++ IDE.
I then create an TCP Sockets connection using the open() method in the RSockets class.
Then I use the Bind() method in the RSockets class to bind to a local address...
Then I use the Listen() and the Accept() methods to accept Client Connections...
I am unable to compile....it gives me the following error....
RCOMP failed - deleting output files
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'perl' : return code '0x1'
Error executing c:\winnt\system32\cmd.exe.
MYTCPSOCKETS.APP - 1 error(s), 0 warning(s)
Help would be greatly appreciated....
Thanx in advance people...
Waitinnn to Kick *** with Symbian C++ until I hear from u...
RCOMP is the resource compiler - the problem is with the resource file.
The resources get built before the C++ compiler runs, so the contents of your C++ file won't make a difference.
BTW - please don't post C++ problems in the Java Networking forum.

Re: Sockets in Symbian C++ for Series 60 Emulator.
when compile the program it compiled successfully. but when run the program using emulator it doesn't open and display message as" program close".
