I am developing a Network-Aware MIDlet for the 3650, which makes an extremely large number of http requests. The problem i am facing is that everytime the application tries to access the network, the user gets a pop-up prompt asking him/her to select whcich access point it has to use. Since my app makes a large number of separate requests, this is a grave issue for the user. Currently this problem is making my application virtually unusable.
Please tell me if there is any way to disable the pop - up and also to be able to speciy a default access point for the app to use when making http requests.
I have the same problem with you. Do you have any solutions for avoding this pop-up? I have used Nokia's own source code for
handling http connection in a seperate thread on Series 60 but it asks the confirmation whenever the application tries to make HttpConnection.
Yes, if you sign the midlet with trusted 3rd party certificate It will not ask the user to allow for network connection everytime you make one. As you can set "Ask only once" in the permissions settings for the app.
