OTA JAD/JAR Installation (7210 v 3650)
I have a JAD/JAR that installs fine over the air to a 3650, but a 7210 complains about both the JAD and the JAR. The JAD isn't even read so I get no prompt to install the JAR.
Is there a different requirement for the 7210 OTA installations?
I have a WAP URL that points to the JAD.
JAD and JAR live next to each other and, as mentioned, install fine on the 3650.
I've tried this with a number of different java games and even a simple "Hello" test app.
Give more details. How exactly does 7210 complain?
Post here your JAD file also
Below is the contents of the AlarmClock.jad file.
MIDlet-1: AlarmClock, , org.spruce.midp.alarmclock.AlarmClock
MIDlet-Name: Alarm Clock
MIDlet-Vendor: Spruce Technologies
When the WAP browser on the phone points to the jad file, we get the message:
"unknow file format"
Are you able to load this app onto the 7210 via cable or IR? "Unknown file format" sounds like the server is not sending the correct MIME types for the download. The correct types are:
.jad - text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor
.jar - application/java-archive
Maybe the 3650 is less picky?
