I use PC suite with a nokia 6600, on windows XP, with a bluetooth connection.
it used to work perfectly, but now i get a message after opening "pc suite" : "File transfer engine operation failed".
So i can no longer use this software
(but the phone works perfectly as a phone)
If someone has had the same problem, and knows a solution...
OK now it works. I had to :
- uninstall PC Suite and all nokia software
- clean up the registry with the "PC Suite registry cleaner" that you can find in nokia's pcsuite download page (it appears only with the english version of pcsuite)
- manually clean up everything about pcsuite in the registry that was not removed by the "uninstall" and the "registry cleaner", searching for the strings "nokia" and "intuwave" (Start -> run -> regedt32 -> edit -> find -> "Nokia"...)
- then reinstall pcsuite
If i reinstall without manually cleanning up the registry, the bug stays
Now Pc suite works again, but bluetooth software crashes explorer.exe, so i will have to reinstall it...
And next week will pcsuite crash again... ?
One of these days i will offer the bluetooth device and the nokia handset to someone i don't like, and buy another phone...
