The currently available finished release is 32 bit, yes, but there is a prerelease version out since a few days and a stable beta version out for almost a year now for 64 bit processors (see http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/default.mspx if you want to participate in the prerelease program).
The real speed effects of 64 bit are only visible in Linux though, because the Linux applications have been recompiled; for Windows it doesn't have a huge effect.
Anyway... I will try to install XP 32-bit.

I am having NMIT 4.1 installed in my machine with Window XP; SP2
And it is working fine! Have'nt encounterd with any probs!
