The software I'm currently working on uses pretty large data files (map data, both raster and vector). Sis-installation seems to copy the sis file into device memory before actually installing the application. So if the sis file is, say 2 MB in size, 7650 will have only about 1.6 MB storage space after the sis is copied onto device and does not have enough memory to actually install the software.
On 9210 this is not as much of a problem, because of the larger storage, but on 7650 this is really giving me hard time. One possible solution is to divide the files into smaller sis-files and install them one at a time, but this is not very good solution considering the extra work for the end user.
Is there another way to automatically install large files?
You can transfer the .sis using infrared, select install. You will get an out of memory message, but by now a copy has been made to the c: drive. Delete the message from your inbox, but the copy still exists. Use the app manager to install it.
