Talk:How to vibrate phones from Java ME
The Display.vibrate() does not work on some (most? all?) Series60 devices. There are several threads in the forum about this. I can confirm that vibrate does not work on my Series60 3rd edition FP1 6290 phone. The same code runs perfectly on a low cost series40v2 6021 phone. This wiki article should give the developers some more information about these problems, which phones have problem, and if there is a workaround.
Muhamad.iqbal - Compatibility
Does the above vibrate code support for midp 2.0 and cldc 1.1?.
Hamishwillee - It says so, but you'd have to try itThe Article Metadata says that it does (see Midp1.0). However I'd say you're better off looking at the article Controlling vibra settings in Java ME which is more recent, has been tested on more recent articles, and has a zip you can easily build and try.
Muhamad.iqbal - I try already
Hello Hamishwillie,I try already the code at article Controlling vibra settings in Java ME. Still same nothing happen. I use Nokia Asha 305.
Hamishwillee - Ah
OK, as I said in the other post you'll need to do some debugging. I'd also cross post the problem to the discussion boards and that wiki article. If you can't fix it yourself then the discussion boards are best place to try. I'd also confirm the code does work on other DP2.0 platforms.
