    Re: NSU Pro

Wow. The silence is deafening! I too am looking for it, and find it pretty incredible that no one from Nokia has responded to your request...

    Re: Facebook in j2me

I am looking for same ability, to authorize, then post to Facebook from J2ME.

I have studied all the Facebook docs (except the REST API which comes next).

Posting seems easy, the problem is...
  3. Re: Reliably retreiving jpg images over http on 6212 emulator

For the benefit of others who might have issues with this area...

I have also discovered that the Image.createImage() implementation in the SDK is extremely sensitive to any extra tags or data in...
  4. Re: Reliably retreiving jpg images over http on 6212 emulator

I'm down to a few intermittent errors, that *seem* to only occur on the fetching of some smaller jpeg images.

When this happens the emulator trace shows:

    Exception: java/io/IOException
    ...
  5. Re: Reliably retreiving jpg images over http on 6212 emulator

Graham, you angel! :-) that works!....I owe you a beer.

It seems to be a bug that only appears with the emulator?

When I keep reading in chunks into a buffer, until I get -1 (EOF), no matter...
  6. Reliably retreiving jpg images over http on 6212 emulator

This is between Networking and Images, but as I suspect it's more networking related I place it here.

I can't find a previous query I did on this subject, so excuse the new post - but I have been...
  7. Re: Sound playing consuming memory - J2ME, S40, 6212

To answer my own question - in case others face it.

The examples I have found are over simplistic, this page helped: http://jcs.mobile-utopia.com/jcs/24237_Player.html

and it seems that if a...
  8. Sound playing consuming memory - J2ME, S40, 6212

I'm trying to play (reliably) sound from .wav files in a 6212 classic (S40).
I followed the instructions in this Wiki article:

How to Play sound in Java ME...
  9. Re: Reading image file via HTTP invokes java decoder and exception

I can't test on real hardware at this very moment and so need a emulator.
I need to be able to test with NFC functionality, so it's the 6212 NFC SDK emulator I think...

Well, I find this hard to...
  10. Re: Reading image file via HTTP invokes java decoder and exception

    > If you can't download the data (because the read() method throws an exception), how do you compare it?

The exception shown is thrown, but read() returns. Even the length of the buffer read seems...
  11. Re: Reading image file via HTTP invokes java decoder and exception

    Hi Graham.

Well, it was happening when I was not creating Images or ImageItems at all - just reading the data from IO.

Also, once I stepped through the code in the debugger and executing the...
  12. Re: Reading image file via HTTP invokes java decoder and exception

    For more fun:

    - seems to happen *sometimes* for JPEG
    - never seems to happen when I am debugging (from NetBeans with the 6212 Emulator)
  13. Reading image file via HTTP invokes java decoder and exception

I've got an application (J2ME, S40, on 6212 Classic) that downloads image files over HTTP

When I read the data for an image (PNG) from the HttpConnection into a byte array using:

    int...
  14. Re: How to check NFC PushRegistry connection in 6212 SDK emulator

    Hi Basu,
if I understand the question correctly, then you can test your PushRegistration stuff in the Emulator by changing the settings to force "Over-The-Air" (OTA) application...

    Re: Windows 7 and ACR122U

Sorry to not answer your questio, and "hi-jack" it a bit....

Have you been able to get the ACR122U reader working as an External reader with the 6212 SDK NFC Manager?

If so, I'd really like to...
  16. Re: Autostart application and reading tag UID with one touch

I notice that when PushRegistry is used to start MIDlet on any tag and targetDetected() is called, that the tag UID is in the URL returned by:

    TargetProperties target = detectedTarget[0];

    Re: Push registry and emulator

I got this to work by chaning the setting in the emulator

    Tools-> Preferences->MIDP

so that OTA is used and the MIDlet is verified by JAM and INSTALLED in the emulator memory.
    - don't...

    Re: PushRegistry and UID

Can you point us at some code to manually launch the reading mode?

I only know how to do it from targetDetected().

    thanks
  19. Cannot get NFC tag driven Static Push Registry (via JAD) to work on 6212

I am still having problems getting PushRegistry to work completely on 6212 Classic via static registration via JAD file after MIDlet download.

I'd like the user to be able to download it, and not...

Re: 6131 NFC autostart on tag touch

The tag with "Hello" is probably not a MIME type with "Text/Plain" but a tag with an NFC define "Text" RTD type.

So, your recordType you should register for would be NDEFRecordType.NFC_FORUM_RTD,...

Re: 6131 NFC autostart on tag touch

I have got the emulator to work with push registry starting of an application.
I am using the 6212 Classic NFC emulator.

You have to set it to do "OTA" installation (Tools->Preferences->MIDP...

Re: retrieve GSM cell id in S40

    Same question, 18 months later.

Is there a way to test CellID (or other location means) on an S40 series in J2ME, without paying for signing?

    Thanks
