Have you got the exact reason of Out of Memory Error.. Have you catched it..? Might be you are loading some heavy resources in memory while instantiation.

Well, Android supports DVM and J2ME JVM. There must be some tool to convert the bytecode for JVM to DVM compatibility.
If the device supported .jar then definitely can deploy jar on android devices. Have to confirm it .
