Erasing the contents of a file

    Hi :)

I want to know how to delete the contents of a file, so it can be rewritten fully using JavaME.

Should I delete the file, and create it anew? Or is there a method to empty a file?

    I...
  3. Re: what are the import packages are used in j2ME for Symbian OS?

Do these operations work in normal Java? (whether J2ME or J2SE)

Don't you have to explicitly cast the resulting quantity into double, by chance? (like double y = (double) (LoanAmount *...

    Unique identification

A quick question: is there a way to uniquely identify a Java-enabled phone? Like, does it have a number or string that never changes and is unique/close-to-unique, that Java can access?

    This, for...
  8. Re: downloading data automatically when the connection is available

In that example, another property comes up, "com.nokia.mid.networksignal". Which are the values for it, or its range?

Thanks; it can be helpful to measure the minimum strength of signal needed to...

How are they stored, as Contacts, Events or To Dos? Seems that's all the PIM API can read.

Will try that too right now, thanks :)

    Re: File Reading

Trying several alternatives to get to the file (I still can't see it), so I sent the .txt by Bluetooth and it ended up as a Note in the Calendar application. Can Java ME read those, by chance?

    If...

There are no folders inside predefgallery when I run the app I linked to before, even when the Gallery folder I can browse with the Nokia Browser shows it has Images, Videos, etc.

    Re: File Reading

Well, I tried listing files and folders with this code, but it only shows two folders, predefgallery and predefjava, and no files.

I tried finding them in the Nokia 2690 through the Nokia Phone...

    File Reading

    Hi :)

First of all, where is a file (.txt) saved if it's transferred to a phone via Bluetooth? And if it's sent by USB cable? (in other words, what's the file's path for those cases?)

    Second,...

    Re: Database access

The record store won't be deleted by, say, turning off the phone, right? I was worried about it because Nokia has placed lots of restrictions upon JavaME, so anything could make it go wrong :s

    Database access

    Hi! :)

I was wondering recently if there is any local database in the Nokia 2690 phones, and that, if it exists, if I could access it with Java and how.

    Thanks!
