    Re: Coding Problem

for a pointer you may want to use the -> operator for accessing members. And I recommed reading a C/C++ book for starters :)

Re: i dont get active objects!

Active Objects are Symbian's approach to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scheduled-task_pattern

Their typical use (beyond timers and such) is to provide a 'callback' mechanism for asynchronous...

    Re: Problem destroying object

This may be totally unrelated and not helpful at all, but: app ui Exit() actually causes a Leave. if you have a TRAP around code calling that, it will lead to very hard to debug problems, ;)

    Re: polling (peeking) events

Or just put your calculation in another thread and signal it from your UI thread's key event handler. Using threads on Symbian isnt as bad a performance hit as people tend to claim.

    Re: Thread problem

Try to trigger the DrawNow() call in the main UI thread using a CActive. For reference, see http://www.newlc.com/en/cross-thread-messaging-cactive-objects

Re: How image is presented in memory

The bitmap is stored linearly in memory starting from pixel at (0,0), one horizontal row after another. The rows are, however, aligned on 4-byte boundaries, thus there might be padding bytes in the...
  12. Re: use CMdaAudioOutputStream to play audio data and get a exception

At what line does this occur? Anyway my guess is your TPtrC8 runs out of scope and causes the fault. Try making the ptr that you hand over to WriteL() a class member of the encapsulating class.

  13. Re: Can Javascript call native C++ methods(s60 framework)?

This is what im trying to do currently. Or, actually, im not looking to call native methods directly (as this isnt currently officially possible due to npruntime not being part of the platform SDK)...
  14. Re: CVideoPlayerUtility video streaming fails on 7610?

Back then we went around RTSP somehow, i dont remember how anymore. ;) As a rule of thumb though, if something doesnt work in _emulator_, you should go ahead and try it in the terminal.

Re: Open HTTP connection in E61

Cheers for all the work you put into this. I, too, have never thoroughly understood why the IAPs are such a pain in the ass. Like, some years ago I was working on a piece of software that...

Re: Framebuffer pixel format in 6680

It seems the pixel format is 8-8-8 - at least it works correctly :) My guess is that the display mode (HAL::Get() reports 16M colors btw) is "24bit", but the display hardware just uses the highest...
