  1. Re: Help. Memory Difference between Emulator and N81.

I am sorry Wizard_hu but I decided to remove the static stuff away. So i can't give you the panic code ,if it happened

Anyway, I am facing with, I think, the "stack overflow" problem, because my...
  2. Re: Help. Memory Difference between Emulator and N81.

    Ouch, that hurts :(
Does anyone know how big this segment is? Can we specify it somehow?
  3. Re: Help. Memory Difference between Emulator and N81.

I've manage to debug on-device,and my program dies at a (little large) static array declaration.

So it's pretty obvious that my program dies because of lack of memory.

How could it be that my...
  4. Re: Help. Memory Difference between Emulator and N81.

    Thanks all,
OK, I guess all of the RAM memory is reserved for my application. But is there any chance that the memory allocation on the emulator is different from the real device? It could well be...

    Hi all,
I have a program that uses quite a lot of memory. When running in Carbide + 3.0 Emulator, I have the following set:

    MegabytesOfFreeMemory 32
    EPOCHEAPSIZE 1048576 25165824 // (1M-25M)
    My...
  6. Re: Self-signed application error :"Unable to install. Component is built-in"

OK, thanks Yucca and those who dropped by. I changed the app name to some other name and now it installs and runs fine. The only problem is it's installed but it removes (uninstalls) my other apps,...
  7. Re: Self-signed application error :"Unable to install. Component is built-in"

Sorry yucca, what do you mean by unique? Apparently, the files are unique within my application, but how am i to know if they're conflicting with other application? I have tried to change my App Uid,...
  8. Re: Self-signed application error :"Unable to install. Component is built-in"

Thanks yucca, but what do you mean by file name? Also, my app uid is generated by Carbide C++ wizard, How do i check if it's not conflicting with my phone?

    Thanks again
  9. Self-signed application error :"Unable to install. Component is built-in"

    Hi all,
I have self-signed my app, following the instructions in the 3rd Initial Ed docs (makekeys and signsis)

Then i install the signed package on my Nokia N95, i get the error "Unable to...
  10. Re: Urgent, Unlimited Heap size ? what does it mean

So what is the answer for this thread?
"Unlimited" should be limited by the available physical RAM, right?

Re: Memory tracking tool in Carbide C++ 1.3

Thanks a lot, that's very helpful for device debugging, but I don't need that yet. I am currently only dealing with emulator (SDK 3.0) :(

  14. Re: Emulator in debug mode crashed with Carbide C++ 1.3 and SDK 3rd (3.0)

I reinstalled the SDK 3rd, and now the emulator seems to be fine. Some kinda weird stuff must have happned!
  15. Re: Emulator in debug mode crashed with Carbide C++ 1.3 and SDK 3rd (3.0)

I am indeed reading an image from file and do some drawing with its bitmap.
The image manipulation takes quite a lot of memory.

There are 2 things in my mind:
    1. How much memory should...
  16. Re: Emulator in debug mode crashed with Carbide C++ 1.3 and SDK 3rd (3.0)

I have tried to all the break points in all the Constructors of my app, but it still crashes right away, so it's kinda hard to catch

Also, I might add here the messages in the Debug window:

  18. Emulator in debug mode crashed with Carbide C++ 1.3 and SDK 3rd (3.0)

    Hi all,
When I run my app in normal mode, the emulator starts fine, but my app gets "Apps. closed". Ok , that's fine because my app probably uses too much memory (HEAPSIZE set to 64M)
