    Simple Homescreen app launcher for Qt

    I've developed an app in QtCreator using standard Qt, which results in a .sis.

    It's a game for toddlers and very young children to use, so I'd like an option so that a homescreen "widget" (which...

    Re: Why doesn't this SVG work on Symbian?

    So why does the SDK come with an SVGB converter rather than an SVGT converter?

    Cheers

    Why doesn't this SVG work on Symbian?

    Can anyone explian why the "dots" don't show up on my E7 when I use this SVG as the icon for a new app? I've tried it as raw SVG as well as converting it with svgtbinencode.

    Re: Keyboard shortcuts on symbian

    I read on another website that the standard keyboard shortcuts work automatically for Symbian. So I thought that maybe by (re)assigning them, I'm interfering with something and breaking it. So, I...

    Re: Keyboard shortcuts on symbian

    I've tried using a QShortcut directly and connecting it up and it still does nothing. Surely someone else has come across this?

    Re: Indicate status in menu

    I don't see how that helps. I've already set the text, I'm after a simple way to set a boolean flag on it.

    If this is not a feature of Qt, is there a clever way of updating the menu text every...

    Re: Keyboard shortcuts on symbian

    I've just noticed that there's an "Actions" menu that turns up on Symbian which contains all of the Edit menu actions and gives the keyboard shortcuts that I've assigned (the usual ones). So they are...

    Indicate status in menu

    I'm implementing a wordwrap option for a QTextEdit in the menus, but I can't find a simple way of indicating whether wordwrap is switched on or not. I'd like an asterisk or a tick or some other...

    Re: Cutting, copying and pasting

    Thanks for your help Daniil, you're a star!

    Re: Cutting, copying and pasting

    If I try this:

    QMenu *editMenu = new QMenu(tr("&Edit"), this);
    menuBar()->addMenu(editMenu);

    /*editMenu->addAction(tr("&Cut"), editor,...

    Keyboard shortcuts on symbian

    I have created a QTextEdit app with menus and assigned keyboard shortcuts to the menus (eg. Ctrl+O to open a file), and this works fine as a Desktop app. but when I compile for symbian, the keyboard...

    Cutting, copying and pasting

    Can anybody explain how to get cutting copying and pasting working for a QTextEdit. I can't find any tutorials so I've been copying (and trying to understand) various pieces of example code and I've...

    Prompting to save on exit

    Is there a standard way of prompting to save a modified file when the user exits? I can't find any tutorials or articles about how to do this.

    Cheers

    If there was a WriteUserData problem, wouldn't that prevent both methods from working?

  18. What's missing that stops this from saving?

    Does anybody know why the following code does not save the text file on Symbian:

    QTextDocumentWriter writer(fileName);
    writer.setFormat("plaintext");
    bool success =...
  19. Re: QRegExp negative lookahead not working properly

    Oh well, I've solved the problem by splitting it into two different sets of regular expressions, one for singel quotes, one for double quotes:
    QRegExp("^[^']*(')(?!.*[^\\\\]').*$");...
  20. Re: Convert Open File dialog to native interface on Symbian

    Or is it possible to get the AVKON API in QT Creator and use the file dialogs from that?

    My understanding, though, is that AVKON is dead and unsupported, so surely there is a decent QT replacement...
  21. QRegExp negative lookahead not working properly

    I'm having a lot of problems with the QRegExp as it doesn't seem to behave anything like Perl regular expressions.

    I'm trying to match a quote character on a line (" or ') as long as there are no...

    Anyone else? I can't be the only person to discover that the QT open file dialog is almost unusable on symbian.

  23. Re: Convert Open File dialog to native interface on Symbian

    Thanks, yes, I've read that. I couldn't really find anything that explains why it's not showing the native OpenFile Dialog though.

    Any pointers?

  24. Re: Convert Open File dialog to native interface on Symbian

    I can't find any parameters like that in the code. The method is as follows:

    void MainWindow::openFile(const QString &path)
    {
    QString fileName = path;

    if (fileName.isNull())
    ...
  25. Convert Open File dialog to native interface on Symbian

    I'm modifying the example SyntaxHighlighter project that comes with QT Creator and using it on Symbian, but the Open File dialog is just awful. How can I change it to use the native Symbian open file...
