    Audio recording on E71

    Hi,

I have an audio recording application running successfully on S60 3.2, 5.0, and Symbian3 devices.
It also runs fine on certain S60 3.1 models, for example N81 and N95 8GB.
    However on the E71...

Re: Symbian3 extension plugins - skin

Well, at least two of the "missing" header files from the Symbian3 SDK, regarding skins, are identical apart from comments at the top of the file.
    I checked aknsitemdef.h and aknssrvchunklookup.h...

Re: Symbian3 extension plugins - skin

Yes, I realize it is early days for the SDK. On the other hand, N8 is coming to market imminently and we (i.e. all developers) need to get these apps to the Ovi store ASAP!
    Just to add more...

    Symbian3 extension plugins - skin

    Hi,

I'm porting an application from 5th edition to Symbian3.
Currently there do not seem to be extension plugins available for the 0.9 Symbian3 SDK.
My application uses skinning, and in order to...

    Re: RConnection::Open block forever....

    That *should* work...
Can you try it on a different device, and have you got latest firmware on the N97?
  7. Re: How to change Select-Cancel cba text at runtime?

    Thanks Jukka.
Does seem strange that you can modify all other labels, but those.
Will be a pain to have to develop custom control just for this purpose.
I will do some more digging around but...
  8. Re: Changing softkey "Select"/"Cancel" labels when options menu is opened

Actually found an old thread asking same question, but no answer was provided:

  9. Re: How to change Select-Cancel cba text at runtime?

    Amar,
I have exactly the same question as you regarding Select/Cancel.
    Did you find a solution?
    Regards,
    Paul
  10. Changing softkey "Select"/"Cancel" labels when options menu is opened

    Hi,

I need to be able to change all labels in the application at runtime, and do not use any strings in resource files for this.
I'm able to set text for all parts of the application except for...

    Application global text alignment

    Hi,

Trying to find some way to specify the text alignment of an entire application.
Most of the controls are created dynamically using C++ API rather than resources,
and for labels I can easily...
  12. Re: CameraMMS - Captured picture doesn't correspond to picture in view finder on E52

    Hello Nikolaj,

I have noticed exactly the same problem on another S60 device (also S60 3.2).
The viewfinder shows the correct image, but the captured image is offset in the same way you describe....
  13. Re: RConnection.Open blocks indefinitely in NIF

Well I installed the ErrRd, but of course it does nothing, since the program does not panic, as I wrote previously. Any other ideas?
  14. Re: RConnection.Open blocks indefinitely in NIF

There's no panic. It just hangs - the Open call never returns.
  15. RConnection.Open blocks indefinitely in NIF

    Hi,

I have code similar to the following, in a server (exe) which is launched by a custom NIF component.

    RSocketServ ss;
    RConnection conn;
    User::LeaveIfError( ss.Connect() );...

    OpenGL performance on 5800

My application uses OpenGL just to implement a custom look-and-feel and works fine on S60 3rd edition devices (tested on N95, N81, N95 8GB, etc).

However on 5800 (5th edition) the performance is...

    Re: OpenGL and touchscreen coordinates

Well the solution was thankfully simple, just convert the X and Y values into a percentage of the screen width and height.

    OpenGL and touchscreen coordinates

    Hi,

I need to convert an application written using OpenGL-ES to touchscreen.
Can anyone tell me a simple way to convert TPoint information (for example
    coming via HandlePointerEventL) to the...

    Re: J2ME Version of Facebook/orkut

You need to look at developer.facebook.com and study the APIs.
Implement the calls to their REST server using J2ME HTTP classes.
Only tricky part is the login. I'll leave that as exercise for you...

    Re: Access point priority

You need to implement a Network Destination (also called SNAP). This is supported from S60 3.2 onwards, but I believe it is not possibile using public SDK.
  21. Re: fseek: conflict between libc and other C-Runtime lib

    Hi,

I just had something very similar to this which cause me a big headache.
Turned out that I had optimised my MMP file a bit too much when removing
    unused libs :)

    Make sure you have LIBRARY...

    Re: RHashMap

    Hey thanks!
I just ran into almost exactly the same problem, using TPtrC8 in the hashmap.
    Changing to TBuf8 fixed it.
