    Re: GSMLoc

    I don't want to spoil the fun but is it actually legal to "reverse-engineer" the cellID grid of the operators? I mean, they usually sell their cellID maps to developpers...
    Very interesting project...

    on the fly audio conversion

    I was toying around with my 6680 last night, and the built-in movie editor caught my attention. It allows you to edit 3gpp movies quite simply yet powerfully, especially for a handheld device.

  3. Re: httplib module doesn't work with Proxy connections(WAP gprs).Any workaround?

    that's really not much: just use sockets and "raw" HTTP commands instead of httplib. It doesn't work all the time, but I've noticed a significant increase in successful POST requests with this...

    Re: Location-aware / GPS / S60

    There are several ongoing projects at the same time, such as Celltrack, Cellspotter... Most of them, unfortunately, are not very advanced since "reverse-engineering" the location of cells is quite a...
  5. Re: httplib module doesn't work with Proxy connections(WAP gprs).Any workaround?

    I guess you'd have to call socket.gethostbyname() or a similar function previously... Though you can use a domain name as the argument of the socket opening function without problem.
  6. Re: httplib module doesn't work with Proxy connections(WAP gprs).Any workaround?

    went back to the roots by using the socket module instead of httplib/urllib, forged myself my own HTTP POST request, and it works now like a charm, even with the WAP access point :)

    Re: No module named messeging

    if you have two s60 phones, you could use one of them, through a bluetooth connection to your PC, acting as a SMS server ?

    Re: Trigger starting script on S60 from PC

    It should be possible by setting a listening socket on your phone:
    - Plain TCP/IP socket
    or
    - bluetooth socket

    Good luck with that.

    Re: Streaming Buffers

    replace this line:
    conn = httplib.HTTPConnection('stream.smoothlounge.com', '80')

    with:
    conn = httplib.HTTPConnection('stream.smoothlounge.com', 80)

    and check if it works. I guess the port...

    could you point us to this urllib module please ?
  11. Re: [Announce] RACCOON : Apache and mod_python for S60

    that's pretty nice. But there's something I don't understand: typically a server must be in constant listening state, does this mean your WAP/GPRS/3G/whatever net connection has to be kept alive...

    Re: Save a part of the image

    maybe this can help:

    http://www.bigbold.com/snippets/posts/show/636

    this code implements motion detection, but it does so by comparing parts of an image with previously saved ones.
