    Re: application self re-start

It could register itself with the scheduler class to start itself after it closes itself, think its name is RScheduler, but that's off the top of my head.

Re: ECOM and Mail for Exchange

I said there probably isn't a DM object for MFE because the OMA has, or had unless its changed, a policy of not touching propreitary settings/protocols - especially MS who were never represented on...

Re: Uncertain behaviour of Active objects

Can you tell me why you think people can diagnose a problem when theres, for example, no code, no detailed explanation. etc.?

    Re: Panic USER EXEC:3 problem

I think you have misunderstanding about the stack and memory. The more likley cause of your problem is an object is attempting to be allocated but there's no memory and that is resulting in the exec...

Re: ECOM and Mail for Exchange

What do you think the Sml in KSmlDMInterfaceUid stands for?

If its MFE you want to OTA configure then configuring SYncML isn't going to do much good. There probably isn't a DM adaptor for MFE...
  6. Re: Timing out an Active Object - Cancel() not working

Nothing immediatly obviously wrong with the DoCancel() but I have no idea if QT is a factor.

"That can't be used, since the AOs run one after another, so everything was getting cancelled."

    That...
  7. Re: Problem when open and read a txt file, need help! 打开和读取文本文件的问题, 大家帮忙

You are putting your file in the PC's C drive no doubt. This is not the emultor's C: drive, that is at, for example, \epoc32\winscw\c

"How can i be sure that I don´t forget to add a dll"

Err, they're you're dlls. If you build a dll obviously you have to add it. If you build something and then forget about it then its time to...

  10. Re: There is no value in buffer during Debugging

How are we supposed to know what buffer you are talking about?

One of the dynamic buffer classes, CBufSeg etc., or do you mean a descriptor, or what. Whats the point in saying "the buffer" and...

How did you create a SIS (as well as a sisx) if you have the 3rd edition SDK?

Re: Adding and reading item from contact db

I don't think its a timing thing but have you tried the User::Wait() suggestion to either confirm/eliminate that as a possibility?
  13. Re: Copying TBuf data into %s formatting variable

As a side note do you need PostData and SmsData at all?

postdata and smsdata can be passed directly to WriteFormat if you're passing them as narrow strings.

    Incidentally, if postdata/smsdata...

    Re: Convert TDesC in Tbuf

    1) Confirm ShowMessageL() is actually being called before DrawImageNow()

    2) Confirm aMsg is what you expect it to be (i.e. its not empty, its not 1000000 bytes long)

    3) post your latest code...

Re: coding problem - function leaving

The mistake was also in the debugging, you said it didn't enter that function thus making everybody think why that could be. Yet it would have entered that function and would have paniced at that...
  16. Re: Copying TBuf data into %s formatting variable

He means C++ pointer not a TPtr.

Just pass the address of the descriptor, &smsdata.

    P.S.
I'm not sure that null terminating the descriptor as indicated as an alternative would work - if %s...

    Re: problem building my project

  18. Re: Can Application(GUI) adn Exe(Non-Gui) share same private path?

Re: Adding and reading item from contact db

"error -25. I read that this error happens when the item I'm trying to access is not present."

Read that where? If something can't be found KErrNotFound should be returned which is -1.

    -25 is...

Re: coding problem - function leaving

A non NULL value for a pointer does not necessarily mean it is a valid pointer. The fact that you say that the function is not entered is what would happen if you have a bum pointer. If you can run...

  23. Re: Copying TBuf data into %s formatting variable

%s is for C-style strings, %S is for descriptors.
