Re: Location API wont provide positions

The was covered... What I found however is a difference in the handling of location timeouts (methinks). After changing the update timeout behavior things are back in order.

Re: Location API wont provide positions

Let me hook in here. I have a similar problem since updating the device to Anna. Or switching to Qt 4.7.4. Not sure what it is, here's what happens: In the past, the app would pick up GPS locations...
  4. Re: QtCreator: Qt Mobility Bearer API error after switching from Qt 4.6.3 to 4.7.3

Bother explain how to actually select the Qt Bearer API?
  5. QtCreator: Qt Mobility Bearer API error after switching from Qt 4.6.3 to 4.7.3

After switching from Qt 4.6.3 to 4.7 ("4.7.3 for Symbian Anna (Qt SDK)" to be precise), I get the following make error:

Project MESSAGE: Qt Mobility Bearer API is deprecated when using Qt 4.7 or...
  6. Re: QA in Ovi Store failed: "No prompt for selecting a specific drive during installa

Installing the most current SDK did the trick! It wasn't quite as seamless though.
I decided to install the new release from scratch and not install it over the existing installation. After this...
  7. Re: QA in Ovi Store failed: "No prompt for selecting a specific drive during installa

Understood, I used this documentation to create the application's .pro file.
There does not seem to be any provision to set the destination drive. DESTDIR, which comes somewhat close, does not seem...
  8. Re: QA in Ovi Store failed: "No prompt for selecting a specific drive during installa

    Thanks for all the answers.
The .pkg file is created by Qt Creator. Sure enough it specifies "c:" instead of "!:", as indicated in the PDF guide referenced by vdharankan.
    Looks like this is the...
  9. QA in Ovi Store failed: "No prompt for selecting a specific drive during installation

I've submitted a Qt app for Symbian^3 to the Ovi Store QA. As before, the app's release-.sis is integrated with the smartinstaller.sis, so:
    make installer_sis QT_SIS_CERTIFICATE=<crt>...
  10. Re: $10M Calling All Innovators eligibility concerns

I got confused as well, but I believe what mbarcley is saying is that meaningful updates had to occur over the months the contest was running prior to the start of the evaluation period.
  11. Re: $10M Calling All Innovators Category Finalists announced

A bunch of things could be going on. Disclaimer, tea leaves below.

For one, it looks like a whole lot of work pushing through evaluations, notifications, fund transfers and double-checking...
  12. Re: Android, iOS mapping to Windows Phone. Where's Qt?

Yeah sure that's the snarky answer.

Considering there's a ready-made community out there on Qt that's soon be looking for a new home you wonder if they've got it all together out there in...
  13. Re: Android, iOS mapping to Windows Phone. Where's Qt?

Let me rephrase: What's the migration path for Qt based apps to Window Phone? There are obviously efforts for iOS and Android, which are, well, a little less closer to Nokia.
  14. [moved] Android, iOS mapping to Windows Phone. Where's Qt?

I know we've had quite the discussion about Qt on Windows Phone earlier. Given the apparent insistence my Microkia that Qt on Windows Phone would impair the Windows Phone developer community...
  15. Re: In my case it's daylight saving times.

Chances are, in a couple/three weeks when we pass the "regular" weekend for the daylight savings change, everthing catches back up to normal.
  16. Re: Ovi Publish Symbian Sigining Developer Certificate expired, does it even matter?

    Story's good ending:
After a few days I've received refreshed certificates from publish support.
The submitted content was accepted by QA and entered the process desptite the expired dev...
  17. In my case it's daylight saving times.

I am running XP SP3 on my dev machine. Seeing this issue pop up on March 13, which is the modified daylight savings time switch in the US, I figured it had to do with it. The modified daylight...
  18. Re: Ovi Publish Symbian Sigining Developer Certificate expired, does it even matter?

    Thanks to all.
My attitude is that I've set this up, dev certificate, smart installer wrap and all, so I'd rather just roll with it. I also like the reassurance to see everything checks out before...
  19. Re: Ovi Publish Symbian Sigining Developer Certificate expired, does it even matter?

I got three months out of the Ovi ones.
Do you know the proper procedure to request new ones?
I sent an email to the Ovi-Publish support, including the information I provided in the first go...
  20. Re: Ovi Publish Symbian Sigining Developer Certificate expired, does it even matter?

OK, I suppose I'll take stab and shoot it up and see what comes out of QA. I am curious though if a three month "limit" on Ovi-Publish provided developer certs is the norm? I find that hard to...
  21. Ovi Publish Symbian Sigining Developer Certificate expired, does it even matter?

In December/January I went through the cycle of entering the various agreements and T&Cs etc. to publish in Ovi Store.
Eventually I got version 1.0 of a first Qt app released. I submitted the sis...
  22. Re: App instability after first install, subsequent launches are fine

It's not like it completely hangs. Is "stutter" a good description? Eventually things go through, but it's agonzing on the first start after install.
I do however access the file system.
    Never...
  23. App instability after first install, subsequent launches are fine

When testing the installation of a Qt based app on Synbian^3 (on an N8), I found that there is a tendency that the app freezes following its launch after the first install. The app hangs to the point...
  24. Re: App tagged with "This item may require a one-time download of components"

I am familiar with .net and C#. I've got an abandoned laptop somewhere around the house that has that stuff on it still...
    At this point, WP7 is a non-starter, unless there's a robust implemenation...
  25. Re: App tagged with "This item may require a one-time download of components"

I suppose after a five week QA process I am well trained in the virtue of patience now.

Dealing with the issues as they arise... Except for this ill conceived disclaimer, it's been a smooth ride...
