Re: Front camera upside down on N9/N950?

Sorry for the fuss - there is no real issue at all, it was only miscommunication between me and the tester.

The issue was that the camera picture was drawn as-is, without any mirroring. (E.g. the...

Re: Front camera upside down on N9/N950?

    Thanks for the quick reply!

Yes, that sounds sane, and the sensor mounting still wouldn't explain the difference where the application which runs fine on my N950 but allegedly showed the camera...

Front camera upside down on N9/N950?

I've built an application that uses the cameras on Harmattan (using gstreamer directly, not Qt Multimedia, using the subdevsrc gstreamer element). I've only got access to a N950 developer device...

    Re: Unstyled/too small QWidgets?

There's no straight easy migration part. In my case, I separated out all UI code that use QWidgets and access it via abstract interfaces, wrote a new UI from scratch in QML, and hooked it up via...

    Re: Unstyled/too small QWidgets?

The solution is "simply" to rewrite the UI using QML/Qt Quick Components - plain QWidgets aren't really supported at all, afaik.

Re: QML WebView usability on Harmattan

Yes, it's in a PageStackWindow - check out the sample application in the bug report if you're interested in details.
  7. Re: Problem deploying project on N950 using MADDE

A third alternative that can be used for installing a package while logged in as developer, is "/usr/lib/mad-developer/devrootsh dpkg -i foo.deb".
  8. Re: N950: Can't uninstall Qt app from Home Screen view

No, I don't think people trying to uninstall it immediately is an issue, in my case it was mostly me wondering if I've done something wrong or if I should change something in my app, in order to make...

Re: QML WebView usability on Harmattan

I found a few other major issues related to the QML WebView rendering html forms combined with the software keyboard, that can lead to the whole phone UI becoming unusable (due to a misbehaving...

    QML WebView usability on Harmattan

    Hi,

I try to use a QML WebView, and it works more or less, with a few quirks:

    - When pressing a text input field, the sw keyboard doesn't pop up immediately, only when pressing it a second time...
  11. Re: N950: Can't uninstall Qt app from Home Screen view

I looked into the same myself recently. If the app is installed by e.g. downloading a .deb, it's installed by the gui application manager, which updates this automatically. The same mapping is also...

    Re: Unstyled/too small QWidgets?

Hmm, what about input methods don't work in plain Qt? The on-screen keyboard seems to work fine for me actually. Rotation handling wouldn't be an issue, my app will probably be locked to landscape...

    Unstyled/too small QWidgets?

    Hi,

I'm in the process of porting an application written for Maemo5 with QWidgets to Harmattan/N950/N9, and all my widgets appear totally unstyled (win95 default qt style) and way too small to be...
  15. Re: White background with CVideoPlayerUtility on Symbian^3

Yes, some of those methods could probably be used, although it feels kinda fragile to calculate it manually (either risking painting over part of the video, or leaving a thin white line between the...
  16. Re: White background with CVideoPlayerUtility on Symbian^3

Nope, in all examples I've seen, that's just set to the same as the aScreenRect argument - e.g. in...
  17. Re: White background with CVideoPlayerUtility on Symbian^3

Ok, so the user is supposed to calculate the dimensions of the video and just draw outside of that? Or is that area actually drawn by the video player available somehow?
  18. White background with CVideoPlayerUtility on Symbian^3

    Hi,

As many other discussion threads seem to discuss, people have problems with getting visible video with CVideoPlayerUtility on Symbian^3....

  20. Bug with static libraries in the Symbian^3 SDK

    Hi,

There seems to be an issue with building apps using static libraries with GCCE with the Symbian^3 SDK. The example at http://albin.abo.fi/~mstorsjo/staticlib.zip shows the issue.

    With older...

    Numeric key events on E55

    Hi,

I've successfully used the info from TSS001326 - Numeric input from a QWERTY keypad on one QWERTY device (E71).

I'm using the numeric keys as directional input in a game, therefore I use...

    Re: Localized folder names

As you mentioned in the linked thread, "configurations" actually seems to work as intended - but only when typed with a lowercase 'c' - if typed "Configurations" as in TSS000367, it doesn't work.

    Localized folder names

    Hi,

According to TSS000367, some group names are special and treated separately, i.e., if a "similar" localized folder exists on the phone, the icon appears in that folder instead, and if no such...

    Re: View switching in background

Thanks, that's a good idea that isn't too ugly or intrusive. Seems to work well.

One small note to anybody trying to implement this: Note that ActivateLocalViewL isn't virtual in CAknViewAppUi,...
