    Re: true file delete/wipe

I wrote my class. It makes a 512KB RBuf8 of random chars, and repeatedly writes it to a file until there's less than 512KB free. It halves the RBuf8 as needed until the drive is full to some...

    Hi Everybody.

I'm tasked with making sure a data file in my app's private directory is truly deleted and not recoverable by forensic techniques.

I read "Symbian OS Internals" with regard to...

Re: UNIX EPOCH - SYMBIAN EPOCH = ?

Thanks Wizard, that's what I get too. I think the roundness stems from the microsecond units. I should have been more clear in original post, thank you.

Re: UNIX EPOCH - SYMBIAN EPOCH = ?

I'd be interested in hearing which board other than General Symbian C++ would be a more appropriate venue for this question.

Also, while Symbian may use TTime, the rest of the world does not. ...

    UNIX EPOCH - SYMBIAN EPOCH = ?

Anyone happen to have this value on hand? usec, msec, or even sec would be fine.

Before you call me lazy, I tried dozens of online javascript calculators, and none seem to appreciate that 0 AD is...

That's something to think about. Thanks.
  8. Re: APP ID Duplicated throughout project. How to consolidate?

Oh well, I guess I'm gonna have to write a little Windows App?
  9. APP ID Duplicated throughout project. How to consolidate?

    Hi Again Everybody.

Sorry if this is a duplicate question. I did poke around a while for answers.

I'm trying to make a very nice reusable app stationary that has two views: a settings list view...

  12. Re: Broke My Emulator: E32User-CBase 21 on every app?

Just replacing EPOC32\release\winscw with a clean install didn't remove the panic, but after replacing the entire SDK, it worked.
  13. Re: Broke My Emulator: E32User-CBase 21 on every app?

Ive learned that it happens when I just try to run the emu from command line. Theres a bunch of junk in there, like every project I have ever compiled and run on it. I think thats the problem. I...
  14. Broke My Emulator: E32User-CBase 21 on every app?

    Hi guys.

What did I do to my Emu? Last time I used it, everything was fine. Now, every single project I try to run, even ones that worked fine yesterday, give E32User-CBase 21!

    Even if I...
  15. Re: Silent Install Returns KSWInstErrSecurityFailure on S60 3.2

    UPDATE:

    I got the install to work by setting iOptions.iCapabilities = SwiUI::EPolicyAllowed;

That wouldn't suppress the download dialog, but I don't need that functionality at this point...
  16. Silent Install Returns KSWInstErrSecurityFailure on S60 3.2

    I'm using the silent install example http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.php/File:S60silentinst.zip with S60 3rd FP2 1.1 SDK and an S60 3.2 phone (6790 Surge).

  18. HTTP Client Example v2.2 has some kind of Leak.

    Hi Everybody.

I've noticed that with every HTTP post in the example code, total system RAM (HAL::EMemoryRAMFree) decreases by an amount proportional to the size of the post data, and it doesn't go...
