May be you should try using PushRegistry.

How can a MIDlet be launched automatically?

    The MIDP 2.0 Push Registry

    MIDlet Auto Invocation

    Hope this helps!

    Regards
    Gopal

You can't use Symbian dev certs for MIDlets. For Java, the route is through http://www.javaverified.com

    Re: Alarm Clock

In addition to Java Verified, you could also use a Verisign or Thawte code signing certificate (those are quite widely available on phones). Also if you are using a S60 2nd Edition phone, you could use your own certificate (you should be able to find a step-by-step guide through searching the discussion boards)

If you are using S40 2nd or 3rd edition, have look at this link also.
