    private path in emulator

    Hi,

    I am trying to store just some small data in the app's private path. I got ok this working on device for phone or mem card.
    But I am fogged with the emulator. For private path I have used first the same code as for real device, then I tried c:\\private\\<sid_app\\file.dat, then
    z:\\private\\<sid_app\\file.dat but in no any case my data is saved in 'file.dat' in the app's private folder. For some reasons I get KErrCorrupt and/or KErrDenied. The things works ok in device.

    Can anybody help me ?
    Can anybody make clear how to do this on emulator ?

    Thanks
    tek

    Re: private path in emulator

    Hi,

    c:\\Private\\<SID>\\ works fine for me on emulator. Are you sure that this path exists in your \epoc32\winscw folder? Maybe you need to try to create your app's private folder with RFs::CreatePrivatePath()?
    Regards,

    And remember that Z-Drive is read-only, thus if you need write-access, you have to use C-Drive on your emulator.

    Re: private path in emulator

    I used c:\\Private\\<SID>\\ but Id did the private folder in wrong place. (z drive of emulator as yucca says instead c: under the epoc32\winscw as ivkey says). Now, it works fine.
    Thank you very much for your help.
