Importing inc/src files from other projects in Carbide

    Hi

I'm trying to include header and source files from one project into another project but without having to physically copy them i.e. would like to soft link to these files.

Why ? Because I have a unit testbench, which is a seperate project, that uses cpp files from the real project directory. Or when I want to share .h files from a library I have defined in a seperate project.

I have managed this via .mmp file import but this doesn't lend itself very well to easy management under the Carbide IDE. + its causing issues with resouces etc.

Is there a way to do this in the IDE that I am just missing ?

    Thanks in advance

Ok managed to find the mechanism.

For those that need to know its:

Right click on project name and add a folder. Click on the advanced button and then check the link to folder checkbox.

Re: Importing inc/src files from other projects in Carbide

I'm trying to do the same thing and having no luck.

I've created the linked folder in the project, and the include files show up under it in the project hierarchy.

I've also added the directory to the User Includes list under Project Properties->C/C++ Build/Tool Settings/System Options. The folder shows up under the "Includes" node in the project hierarchy and is correctly designated with the include folder icon. However, references to the header files from .cpp files are still failing.

This is all under Carbide v1.1 Express. Is this an Express "issue", a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

OK, I think I figured it out:

In my case, the headers are in separated from .cpp files in their own directories. To make this file collection work as part of a Carbide project, I had to add the include directories ONLY as includes (and not as linked folders in the project) and add the directories with .cpp files as linked folders.
