    Use sdk independent PKG files

    Hi,

I am trying to create a sdk independent pkg file, where the full path of sdk to use is not specified, and neither the target (udeb, urel), as well as other project settings. Unfortunately I have been unable to do this.

I tried the makesis -d command but it does not seem to be working for 3.0 MR sdk.

I was wondering if there's a way to do this either using env vars or some other tools / trick?

    Thanks,
    K.

Re: Use sdk independent PKG files

    You can use

    makesis -d%EPOCROOT% pkg-sile sis-file

to pass the path of the emulator to makesis. Files in the emulator are then available in\Epoc32, like

    "\Epoc32\release\ARMV5\UREL\my.exe" - "!:\sys\bin\my.exe"

this works for all SDK's, apart from some 9.1 ones because a broken version of makesis has been included. Upgrades of makesis are available (at developer.symbian.com I believe).

The trick only works for closely related SDK's, like S60 2nd FP2 and S60 2nd FP3, because of the device dependency lines in a pkg file

It may not be exactly what you want, but you could wrap the build system with some custom scripts, to create the PKG file as part of your build process.
