    Post incorrect PKG updates

    VS2003 7.1.6030 (SP1) + Carbide.vs 2.0.1 + SDK 3rd MR

    1) Open pkg file in VS editor
    2) Add some external file with ,FR,RI
    3) Make sure "Update pkg file" is checked in project properties
    4) Build

Last letter of line you've added is replaced with double quote (huh?!) and packaging fails.
Solution is to write each install option in double quotes: ,"FR","RI"

    Re: incorrect PKG updates

Actually, in this case, once you have a .pkg file that is well formed, the best option is to simply disable automatic .pkg file update, that is the intended mode of working with more advanced .pkf files.

It doesn't matter. "Update pkg" must work correctly. In my case pkg file changes every week or so: new languages, new dlls, etc.

Also, updating pkg file erases application version number (replaces with 0,1,1) and platform compatibility numbers (replaces with *,*,* which is incorrect in most cases anyway). That's also wrong. :) It COULD be ok, if Carbide allowed to change version numbers in Carbide Project Properties, but it doesn't.
