Installation of signed midlet and set permissions automatically

    Hi Forum,
i wonder if it is possible that i can set the permissions of an midlet suite automatically when i install the application on the handset.
At the moment I'm using a Thawte certificate (so 3rd party domain) to sign.
I want access to bluetoth and internet for instance and specify this permissions in the jad descriptor.
Installing the midlet on the handset works fine, but anyhow i have to set each permission manually in the menu to "never ask". Is there a way to set this permissions automatically using third party signing.
I read that it is possible to set the permissions automatically using an operator or manufaturer certificate. Is that true or has anyone succeeded setting the permissions automatically with another method?
    Best Regards
    Uli

No such capability for trusted third party, you have to set the security settings at the first time after installation. Do you have the chance to get an operator or manufacturer certificate?

About the operator certificate I have to investigate. It would be interesting if it works with such a certificate.

HAs somebody some experience with the javaverified certificate? Is this also 3rd party level as Thawte or does I have more rights with this certificate. As it seems it is not so easy to get the operator certificate, even if i have quite contacts to operators.

Java Verified is the same level as VeriSign or thawte.

You have to live with the current situation. Having not the correct default permissions is actually the smallest issue in code signing …

You need to partner with T-Mobile. Unfortunately I do not have a good contact for you for that (and note that it is not very easy to achieve that...)
