    Question N80 Video Streaming using WLAN

    Hi all

    I'm new to NOKIA devices development & extremely need help.

    I plan to stream video from a laptop to the N80 over the WLAN.

    Q1: use J2ME or C++ ?

    (I'm familiar with JAVA but I know that c++ is used for real time applications)

    Thanks in advance

    Re: N80 Video Streaming using WLAN

    I can only say that it's definitely possible in Symbian C++ (I've not worked with J2me for some while now, but it's probably also possible there), but if you have no prior experience with Symbian C++, you should consider that Symbian C++ can be a pretty though experience at first.. So for quick prototyping and such I would say go with Java if you can..

    For the beginning you can also consider using Python for S60. It's simple but powerful.

    If you don't have a Symbian/Java programming experience and only want to stream video you can set up a video stream server on your laptop and then connect your N80 via WLAN by using RealPlayer already installed on your smarthphone.

    As I remember in N80IE version (IE stands for Internet Edition) there is an application called ORB by which you can access files from your computer through the internet (including WLAN of course) - check the user's manual.

    Thx alot man here is what I'm doing...

    I'm building the server using JMF (Java Media Framework)

    & I have some questions

    1- does H.263 PO L10 differ from regular H.263
    (i.e: what does PO L10 mean )

    2- does N80 IE differ from regular N80 when using the WLAN

    Thanks in advance
