How to install the sis file and test it

    Hi
I am new to this Symbian C++. I created the sis file by following the instructions which given in this URL

    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/devices/..._launcher.html

then I build it by using the following commands
    bldmake bldfiles
    abld build gcce urel
    makekeys
    signsis

I dont know how to install the sis file.

Then I put sis file in the folder C:\Symbian\9.2\S60_3rd_FP1_5\Epoc32\winscw\c\Data\Installs

When I try to install. It shows me "File Corrupted" Error.
Pls anybody give me the step by step to install the sis file in correct way
    Thanks in Advance

Target builds would not work in the emulator, thus you should try installing it to a real device.

Re: How to install the sis file and test it

Yucca has said: target builds do not work in the emulator.
It also means that emulator builds (epoc32\release\winscw...) do not work on the target. The .rsc files are OK, but the .exe should be taken from epoc32\release\gcce\urel. Prior to that a target build is necessary of course: abld build gcce urel.
Also do not forget signing the .sis file. Maybe the example describes that.

Some of the problems (not all critical) highlighted in red above. The HelloWorld example form the S60 SDKs does not have this kind of problems...

Re: How to install the sis file and test it

Just clarification, you won't be able to install .sisx file in S60 3rd FP1 emulator. The reason is because the emulator is not shipped with the software installer certificate.

Btw, you don't need to create and install .sisx file on the emulator. Simply compile it and it should work on the emulator.

Re: How to install the sis file and test it

    For which platform version?

On S60 3rd Edition there is no direct connection between PKG and your certificate.

On previous releases the certificate is referenced by a PKG script statement.

On both cases however SDK's documentation describes the issue in details.
