- Nokia 6280
- 12Mb free space
- midlet is 276kb, unsigned, run OK
If I download the midlet onto the 6280 (instead of Bluetoothing), and then upgrade via a second download, the upgrade works as expected - with the appropriate checks about version is higher, and application source doesn't match, keep data yes/no.
However, if the initial midlet was Bluetoothed onto the 6280 (instead of being downloaded), I get an 'Operation failed' error on trying to upgrade, when the jad is downloaded.
Can anyone explain why a downloaded midlet works, but a Bluetoothed one doesn't.
"Both the JAD and JAR must come from the same source as the original MIDlet suite."
Might it be to do with Bluetooth having a 'default/different domain?
If so, I would expect it to pop up a check - not fail.
One last little twist: if I download by Bluetooth but DON'T actually run the midlet, it upgrade again works. Not useful, but it may help the explanation.
Thanks in advance...
