    Hi ritu,

Your device must support JSR-75 and the FileConnection Optional Package, so take a look at the nice blog post below by Gopal as you will get a lot of documents (including a good doc by Forum Nokia) and information about that API.

    FileConnection - Introduction to beginners

    Hope it helps.

Re: How to deploy any FileConnectionAPI application on any mobile phone?

You can find the technical specifications and API support of different Nokia devices here.
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/matrix_all_1.html

In S60 devices the path will be like "file:///c:/Nokia/Sounds/TestDIR/"

Please go through the links in the Blog that Juarez has pointed.
Also there is an updated doc "MIDP: FileConnection API Developer's Guide (with Example) v2.0"
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.n..._0_en.zip.html

    Regards
    Gopal

Re:How to overcome the problem of restricted API's?

    Hi,

I've made one game application using JSR-75 and FileConnection API ,what my application's job is just to fetch any image from the mobile's picture directory and it change into a slider puzzle , my problem is that the application has deployed into the mobile successfully but the problem is that whenever I choose any image it prompts several times asking ALLOW APPLICATION TO READ USER DATA ?
After a few minutes,we will be able to see that image in slider puzzle format.

Why this prompt comes so many times ?
    What is it's solution ?
How I come out of this problem ?

    Thanks

Re: How to overcome the problem of restricted API's?

To answer it simply, you can avoid the permission message prompts by signing the application. Please go through the FAQ on Signing.

Re: How to store a file containing large amount of data in RMS?

    Hi ritu,

One suggestion. Can't you batch it and then have a MIDlet/Servlet combo used to send the data from a remote server to a MIDlet by using HTTP?

It seems to be an easy to build yet feasible approach.

    Kind regards,
