Will the N-Gage SDK be publically released?

It would be interesting to see and use the N-Gage C++ SDK.

Re: Will the N-Gage SDK be publically released?

For the original N-Gage devices, the S60 1.2 ("1st Edition") SDK worked fine for general apps as the N-Gage and N-Gage QD were S60 1.2/Symbian 6.1 based devices.

The N-Gage game development SDK for the N-Gage and N-Gage QD game developers was only available for developers/publishers with an agreement/contract with Nokia to develop N-Gage games.

This will also be true for the new, "next generation" N-Gage solution/experience (http://futurewatch.n-gage.com/flash.html). In other words, that SDK will not be publicly available, either. The actual compatible devices have not been announced by Nokia yet, except that they'll be based on S60 3rd Edition, or newer versions, and includes some already existing devices, and of course future/unannounced devices, but not necessarily all of them.

If you attended last Game Developers Conference (GDC), the new N-gage SDK contents were outlined in a talk there:
    https://www.cmpevents.com/GD07/a.asp...11&SessID=4583

For more, see https://developer.n-gage.com/site/gl...ome/p_home.jsp and especially the part that says: "To learn more about the Next Generation of Mobile Gaming including business models, development kits, distribution methods please email us at nextgeneration@n-gage.com and a member of Nokia's game team will contact you shortly."
