Shipping an Application on an Nokia device.

    Hello,

I've heard that ship an application on a Nokia device implies in a complex procedure. Does anyone has any information about this or where i can find some?

Let's say that i have an application and i want to ship it on a Nokia device that will be released, what should i do to be able to do this? That Simbian Signed has anything to do with this?

    Thanks in advance,
    Vitor.

    Hi,

You mean shipping an application embedded in the device, from factory? That's a complex procedure, mostly due to business issues, not technical ones. It requires you to negotiate with some Nokia Business Unit or operator to see if there's interest in your application.

Every application meant to be embedded should be at least Symbian Signed / Java Verified, and a few require more testing internally, a.k.a. Symbian Signed for Nokia program.

My suggestion: get your application up and running, get it verified and after that contact the relevant person in Nokia and/or the operator, show them the application working and discuss the proper business matters with them.
