    Getting unable to install message on an E61 device

    Hi,
    I'm trying to install a console application on the E61 device.
    I've obtained a developer certificate from Symbian and created a SIS file using this certificate and a private key for the same.
    I'm able successfully sign it using the signsis command.
    However when I try to install the SIS file on my phone,
    somewhere during the middle of the installation
    I get the "Unable to install" error message, and the installations stops.

    I've posted my pkg file below for reference.

    ; unittest_armv5.pkg
    ;
    ;Language - standard language definitions
    &EN

    ; standard SIS file header
    #{"Unittest"},(0x20003EBF),1,0,0

    ;Localised Vendor name
    %{"Vendor-EN"}

    ;Unique Vendor name
    :"Vendor"

    ;Supports Series 60 v 3.0
    [0x101F7961], 0, 0, 0, {"Series60ProductID"}

    ;Files to install
    "C:\\test\build\s60v3\install\test_lib.exe" -"!:\sys\bin\test_lib.exe"
    "C:\StatViews\test\build\s60v3\install\unitlib.dll" -"!:\sys\bin\unitlib.dll"
    "C:\StatViews\test\build\s60v3\install\sampledll1.dll" -"!:\sys\bin\sampledll1.dll"
    "C:\StatViews\test\build\s60v3\install\uvmf_v4_3.dll" -"!:\sys\bin\uvmf_v4.3.dll"
    "C:\StatViews\test\build\s60v3\install\samplepolymorphicdll.dll" -"!:\sys\bin\samplepolymorphicdll.dll"

    I've read a couple of posts and experts have said that if I use a protected UID, I'll be able to install it.
    However, I'm using a dev cert + protected UUID, but am still not able to install it.
    I'd really appreciate if someone could point out as to what I could be doing wrong or if there's anything more that I need to do?

    Thanks & regards,
    Asheesh

    Re: Getting unable to install message on an E61 device

    After doing some search, I found out that I was missing a SecureId in my test_lib.exe mmp file. However, even after specifying the secureId in the mmp and recreating the SIS file, I still get the same error.

    I read in one of the posts that the binaries in the pkg file should have UIDs from the protected range. Is that correct?

    So essentially the UIDs in my pkg file,
    and that of my binaries (exe and dlls) should belong to the protected range.
    Please let me know if that's the case.
    I'd appreciate any help in this regard.

    Thanks,
    Asheesh
