    Smile Security mode for WiFi networks

    Hi,

    I'd like to make it easy for the user to create an access point for the WiFi networks.
    All he needs is to enter the key, and my application will figure out what sort of security is associated with this SSID.

    My question is, is it posible to get the security information for a specific SSID?

    Regards

    well apparently TConnMonWLANNetwork in ConnMon.lib
    has a method SecurityMode() which should give you what you need.

    Re: Security mode for WiFi networks

    Hi Lucca,

    I need to get the other security parameters for that WiFi such as:
    * Wlan Security mode
    * wep key in use
    * Authentication type
    * Wep key encryption(64 or 128 bit)
    * Wep key format

    I'm sure we can get all those information but I don't know the APIs .

    I would recommend you to use this modul:
    S60_3rd_SDK_MR_API_Plug-In_Pack4

    have a look at wlanscaninfo.h

    P.S.
    * wep key in use
    this is something you'll have to crack ...

    Hi Guys,

    I am having similar problems. Have any of you figured this out yet or got any closer to the solution?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Security mode for WiFi networks

    Hello,

    I am just using a GCCE compiler. Would anyone know how to compile this using GCCE? I saw that the libs available are only for armv5. I get an (-1) (KErrNotFound?) runtime error when I try to run it in winscw and the app just exits when run on the phone.
