    Async UI signalling

    Hi,

    How do I asynchronously signal the UI to do something like PostMessage in Windows Mobile?

    Actually I have another thread where depending on certain scenarios I want to signal the UI about the changes so that it can display the message to the user. For the same I dont want to create a seperate thread for the UI signalling though..please suggest what to do here..

    Cheers

    Re: Async UI signalling

    There are few ways to, but try RProperty first, more info in the SDK help:

    » Symbian OS v9.1 » Symbian OS reference » C++ component reference » Base E32 » RProperty

    In brief:

    const TUid KMyTaskProperty= {0x90000A01}; // Apps UID

    TInt r=RProperty::Define(KMyTaskProperty,ECurrentIAP,RProperty::EInt);

    RProperty::Set(KMyTaskProperty,EMyKey,Currentvalue);

    Afterwards, create an active object, Subscribe() the property at the receiver end and use Get() to get the value.
