    Question Problems editing SVG

I'm using Adobe Illustrator CS2 to edit SVG files, but many SVG files of the themes have gradients. The problem is: when i save the edited files Illustrator rasterizes the file making it not suitable for Carbirde.ui. Does someone know how to prevent Illustrator rasterizing the vectors (with gradients, some times with transparency)?

    Hello,
Could You, please, help us, with some details... to understand the problem. On copy paste, Carbide.ui converts SVG to SVGt. Does it, then, filter out gradients?
    Thank You for help.
    Best Regards,

What do you mean by "not suitable for Carbide.ui"? Do you mean that the graphics cannot be read by the theme editor?

I'm getting this error too. It indicates to me that something is not working correctly. How to correct the problem and maintain vector gradients throughout the process?

    Re: Problems editing SVG

    Hi!

The problem lies with Illustrator converting complex gradients to rasters - this happens on the Illustrator side. Try to simplify your gradient if possible - are you using gradients within circles?

The other alternative is to use Inkscape, maybe just to touch up your gradient before exporting it to Carbide.UI. I personally only use Inkscape now - it's free and it loads a lot faster than Illustrator.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi,

As Stepan mentioned try using Inkscape. It is the best for creating SVG files and is free.
