    Unhappy Connector.open issue on the 6131

    My 6131 finally came in and as i'm running my app on it, i'm stuck on a problem. Everything works fine in the emulator, but not on the phone. When my app detects a new tag, the line:

    Connection cxn = Connector.open(tagurl);

    is failing. It isn't thowing an exception, it just quits out of the function and doesn't execute the next .setString method or anything else. it appears that the url it is getting is correct.

    Anyone else run into this problem? My simplified code is below

    Thanks

    try {

    String tagurl = properties [0].getUrl();
    textField1.setString("Check 1");

    //APP IS FAILING HERE. Code reaches this point and then quits.
    Connection cxn = Connector.open(tagurl);
    textField1.setString("Check 2");
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    System.out.println("EX: " + ex);
    ex.printStackTrace();
    ticker1.setString(ex.toString());
    }

    specify your type of connection and give a try ! e.g.

    try {
    NDEFTagConnection conn = (NDEFTagConnection) Connector.open (tagurl);

    } catch (xxxException ex) {

    }

    conn = (NDEFTagConnection)cxn;

    but when i do

    NDEFTagConnection conn = (NDEFTagConnection) Connector.open (tagurl);

    Lets look at your url value !
    Can you get the value of url from the debugger?

    Re: Connector.open issue on the 6131

    In the dugger i get nfc:ndef;type=mf1k

    When i run the app on the physical phone, i'm getting nfc:ndef;type=mf1k;uid=b464050c

    I hard coded it to use just nfc:ndef;type=mf1k but that didn't work either.

    Thanks

    FWIW. I never figured out what was causing this, but i created a new app from scratch and got it working just fine. Strange.

    Hi,

    How are you trying to detect the Tag? using a 'TargetListener' or a 'NDEFRecordListener'? did you configure the Push-Registry?
