    Read/write 3220 tags from Pegoda

    Hello,

Is it possible to read/write the tags provided in the "Nokia 3220 NFC shell" package (see picture) with a Philips Pegoda reader/writer MF RD700 (latest firmware from the NXP website) ?
What kind of tags are they exactly ? Mifare Classic 1k or something else ?
I tried with the Philips MifareWnd application, and it says "No card in RF field", and with JCOP JCShell it says "T=CL: SAK indicates, that no ATS info available".
Do i need to set some security keys anywhere ?

    Thanks for helping

These tags should be Mifare 1k. I´m using these samples too and they work well with MifareWnd and Pegoda. Try to use the high level function "Show cards" in MifareWnd to display the UID of the recognized tag. If this works all other functions should work too.

    Hello Choege,

    Thanks for your reply.
High-level functions such "Show cards" in Mifarewnd seems to work, but sometimes i have to move the tag around the reader for it to be detected.
I tried a few commands in the app (load keys, read, write,...) , but i always have the same error (see pictures).
Do you think the problems comes from the Pegoda or from the tags (i also tried with clean out-of-the-nokia-box tags).
In the "Read-Write" screen, if i try "read" without "authenticate" flagged, it says "CRC error", and if i try with this flag activated, it says (again) "No card in RF Field".
Can you send me your MifareWnd settings / sequence operations ?

    What is in your keyset?

The first KeyA should be A0A1A2A3A4A5
All other keys should be D3F7D3F7D3F7

With these keys reading out the NFC Forum tags works for me.
Don´t forget to load these keys into the reader with 'Load keys'.
Also you should specify the correct keyset for authentication in Options>>Command Parameter

    You're right.
I was using the default keyset ("FFFF..."), and after loading the A-B keyset, i'm able to read these tags (block 00 to block 0003 only, i guess there's no block 04 ?), but only from the "High level/read-write" screen.
Read and write commands from the main form always return the same error, even if i use "Auth key A" and "Auth key B" before.
However, i can't write any value on any block.
Do you know if it's possible, perhaps using a different keyset ?
    Thank you.

Look here for the keyset: http://hoedsch.gmxhome.de/pic/mfkey.jpg
With this you should be able to read and write the tag.
In block 4 and following blocks there is the stored NDEF message.

If you want write protection for your tag you should set KeyB to a secret key.

I tried with your settings, and know i'm able to read all blocks (from 00 to 0063) .
But unfortunately, still no success about writing the tag.
Can i write any kind of value (such as 000000...) on any block, or is there some kind of "data/structure validation" ?
